The disturbing story by E M Forster, written in 1920 which described a world where humans were banished to live underground under the firm but benign grip of "The Machine" which saw to their every needs.

It traced one young mans failed attempt to touch and feel the real world outside and the chaos which ensued when finally the Machine began to disintegrate. Perhaps a poignant reminder of the disaster that was foreseen in the shape of the "Millennium Bug", or perhaps the reliance we now place on computers and mechanical devices in our daily living.

A play, which left most of the audiences who saw it, affected by the drama and emotion of the story.

This was a very successful play, winning a place in the All Wales Finals of One-Act Plays in Milford Haven in June of this year.

Under Bob Fox's imaginative direction the story was brought to life by the unique combination of adult and young actors. A format Mikrokosmos plans to exploit in the years to come in its pursuit of "professional" excellence.
