(This page is currently under construction. Please keep checking back for updates).
Performed on 10th - 13th July 2002.
Set in a Dance Hall in Flint, this new comedy takes a wry look at events during February 1952 when George King, the owner of “The Empire”, dies suddenly and his elder daughter Betty takes over. Accompanied by a live dance band complete with crooner, this new play satirises the turbulent events surrounding the death of George VI. Once again the play is directed by Bob Fox, and designed by Paul Jones. Many of the costumes were authentic period pieces acquired by the company especially for this production. Featuring contemporary songs and dances , Mikrokosmos teamed up with The Bettany School of Dance to make sure the company recreated the mood and movement of ballroom dancing in the 50s.
